Job Ideas For Teenagers

by Seth Myers

Being a young teen is never easy. Sometimes you are treated as a child and sometimes you are treated as an adult. During this time period many teens begin to start looking for a job or ways to make some extra money. This is definitely an adult type activity and it is something that requires responsibility.

There are a number of potential job opportunities for young teens. You may want to pick one that does not take much of your time, pays reasonably, and fits your personality. First, consider your strengths. Ask yourself what you like doing and what you are good at? If you are born with special talents like drawing, singing, painting, or writing, you may make use of this to offer freelance services.

Start with the people you know, professionals who may want to require your services. Ask your friends who are part of local organizations if they need someone to make or design a poster, sing at an event, and so on. If you naturally love to talk, you could offer to host your neighbors parties.

If you are a teen that is good with children you might be able to get a job helping out in a day car or as a part time tutor. If you are good at school you might be able to find other students whos parents are willing to pay you for tutoring their children.

Some teens have skills they might be able to market to others on their own and make money that way. They can charge for things like weeding gardens, babysitting, pet sitting and walking, and mowing lawns to earn some extra money. An enterprising teen might be able to line up enough clients to even earn enough money to make it equal to or better than a real job. The more things a teen can do and the more people they can find who might want their services would mean the more money they could make.

The Internet actually has a lot of opportunities for budding journalists out there as well. There are quite a few young teens that have made a fortune online designing avatars, graphics, and layouts for the likes of MySpace, Plurk, and other networking sites. You could search Facebook and other reliable online sources for freelance writing jobs. You could even do further research on how to earn through blogging.
